Fatboy Bikes are made to EN15194 standards. This is the European safety standard for EPAC e-bikes. It limits motor assistance to 25 km/h, requires pedal-assist only, and sets strict rules around electrical safety, braking, and reliability.
DNA EN15194 compliance:
- The Fatboy DNA cannot be unlocked or de-restricted beyond 25 km/h.
- The throttle only works while pedalling.
- Built to meet EN15194 requirements.

All Fatboy Bikes models have a maximum continuous power of 250 watts at 20km/h, or 500 watts at 25km/h with a max load of 180 kgs. In the opinion of Fatboy Bikes this is inline with EPAC legislation. Throttles are strictly for private property use and should be isolated when riding in public.
